Homeopathy is a 200 year old system of healing that stimulates the body's innate healing mechanism to restore health. The stimulus from homeopathy can be helpful for a very wide range of health conditions, particularly chronic conditions that haven't responded to more conventional approaches. Homeopathy has the capacity to influence the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels of an individual.
A homeopath considers the whole person as an individual. She seeks to understand what their challenges and coping mechanisms are, physically, emotionally and mentally, and then match a remedy to these characteristics. The remedy is taken in a very dilute amount which is specially prepared to stimulate the energetic level of the organism with little chance for causing side effects.
An acute consultation (symptoms of short duration or an injury) is generally ½ hour long. A history of the symptoms is taken, with emphasis on what the sensations are like, what makes them better or worse, as well as any other information that can be offered or observed.
An initial constitutional consultation (conditions lasting more than a couple of weeks, recurrent, or chronic) generally lasts 1 ½ to 2 hours. A history of the chief complaints, as well as a comprehensive history of the individual on all levels, is explored during this appointment. The case is then studied and a remedy is recommended. Follow up appointments of about ½ hour are scheduled every four to six weeks until definite improvement is underway and thereafter scheduled as needed.
Consulting a classical homeopath is a decision that should be made with the understanding that we need time to get to know each other and work together. Sometimes the first remedy tried produces rapid and permanent results, often the response to the first remedy gives important clues about what a better remedy might be. Plan to commit to an initial appointment and 3 follow up appointments in order to give the homeopathic process a fair try. Longstanding chronic conditions should show at least some improvement by this point in the process, however they are likely to take longer than this to resolve.
The services she offers fall under California SB-577 which allows practice of alternative and complementary healing arts which are conducted in accordance with the bill. She is not a physician. Homeopathy is a healing art that is not licensed in the state of California.
